The Strange Rover was bought in March 1989 for the sum of
£1000. She is a 1973 109" wheelbase series III Military 3/4 ton 4x4
Utility vehicle Manufactured by Land Rover. The "Landy" was
fitted with the standard 2.25 4 Cylinder Petrol engine and had four speed
gearbox plus 2 speed tranferbox give.
In 1995 the gearbox gave up and was replace with a
reconditioned box and at that time the engine was replaced with 3528cc V8
from an SD1 Vittesse at about the same time the "Landy" was
fitted with 9.00r16 (9.00" height by 9.00" width16"rim
diameter) and the original 31/10.50R16(31" Diameter by
10.5" width 15"rim diameter). The Strange Rover's Nickname is
